At ShirAnit, our team is made up of dedicated young Jewish women who are passionate about supporting families during the shiva period. Through groundbreaking work and deep commitment to our traditions, we're leading the charge in providing meaningful support and preserving the sacred customs of Jewish mourning. This is a team with real impact—honoring tradition and delivering care that matters to families in their most difficult moments.
ShirAnit was born from a deep desire to support Jewish families during one of life's most difficult moments: the shiva period. Founded by a group of young Jewish women volunteers, our organization is dedicated to providing practical and emotional support to mourners.
We believe in the power of community, education, and compassion. Through our work, we strive to honor Jewish traditions while providing modern, comprehensive support to families in need.

What We've Built Together Since October 2021
There are many ways to support ShirAnit beyond setting up shivas. Volunteers help with logistics, inventory, supply purchasing, creative projects, community outreach, fundraising, and more. Whether you can offer your time, skills, or professional expertise, there is a place for you. Click below to learn more about how you can get involved.
ShirAnit began with just a handful of women and a simple dream—to ensure that no family would mourn alone. Today, our model can be brought to any community that shares this vision.
By starting a new chapter, you can create a circle of volunteers who bring presence, comfort, and dignity to families during shiva. ShirAnit provides the guidance, structure, and resources you'll need; all it takes is a group of caring hearts ready to serve.
